1982 was the start of something big in British Columbia Canada with the movie “First Blood” starring and co-written by Sylvester Stallone.  This movie was shot in Hope BC – I remember the big deal it was to have Sylvester Stallone, Brian Dennehy & Richard Crenna staying at the Harrison Hot Springs Resort when I worked there.  Who knew where this would lead to.

There are currently 36 Movies and TV shows shooting in Vancouver and British Columbia with another 19 to start filming soon.  This industry does amazing things for the communities that they film in, they spend a great deal of money on equipment rental and have a very well paid employee base who spend their dollars in BC.

We are blessed in Vancouver to have an abundance entertainment talent from actors, stunt people, management and crew plus locations, both outdoor and indoor and several sound stages to create that movie and TV Magic.  We are the location of TV Shows such as “Arrow” “The Man in the High Castle” “Riverdale” “Fear the Walking Dead – First Season, I don’t do the list justice with the space that I have. Dwayne the Rock Johnson is in Vancouver shooting “Skyscraper” with principle shooting starting on August 14th the film setting is China – Thank you Vancouver for stepping in. Some of the other actors involved in the project are Neve Campbell, Chin Han, Pablo Schreiber, Byron Mann, Hannah Quinlivan & Noah Taylor. This action adventure will come out in July 2018.

Deadpool 2, Is currently filming in Vancouver and is set to be released on June 1, 2018 with Vancouver Actor Ryan Reynolds playing the main character Wade Wilson aka Deadpool. Deadpool 1 was the highest grossing R Rated movie of all time at $783 Million dollars and counting.

Deadpool 2 with Josh Brolin, playing “Cable/ Nathan Summers” “Brianna Hildebrand as “Negasonic Teenage Warhead” T.J. Miller as “Weasel” Zazie Beetz “Neena Thurman / Domino” It’s great that Ryan Reynolds brings this franchise back to Vancouver and we are treated to seeing popular landmarks in this movie.  Deadpool started production in June 2017 is scheduled to wrap in October 2017.

Dragged Across Concrete with Mel Gibson and Vince Vaughn is a Crime Drama scheduled to shoot from July to Mid September – No release date.

I’m Not A Bad Person is filming in Peachland British Columbia with Peachland Native Andrew Huculiak working with his brother and a close knit team, open calls various locals to produce a Made in BC Thriller/Drama following up his critically acclaimed previous movie “Violent”

The Women of Marwen or Marwencol is a Robert Zemeckis project starring Steve Carell as a man who has lost his identity and building a miniature village to help him cope and pass the time.
